Having founded Victoria Eyecare as a solo practice in 2002, he is gratified to see the fine team of doctors and staff that continue to provide patient centred care. He currently coaches other physicians on Healthcare Quality Improvement skills as well as patient communication.
Dr. Khan has delivered over one hundred invited lectures at national and international conferences. He has also authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, chapters in textbooks on cataract surgery, and is the coeditor of the textbook, Surgical Correction of Astigmatism (Springer; 2019). He is a current Faculty Advisor in Quality Improvement and Surgical Quality Council Lead Physician.
Dr. Khan is frequently requested to provide expert consultation in health care quality and safety and organizational efficiency.
At Harvard University, Dr. Khan focused his studies on Health Care Quality Improvement. In addition to residency in Ophthalmology (Toronto), he specialized in Cornea and Refractive surgery through a fellowship at Tulane University in New Orleans.
He gains great enjoyment from hiking (or running) the many trails in and around Victoria.
