Drops and Medication
Surgical Eye Drops
-
You will start your pre-operative eye drops 2 days before surgery as advised by the physician.
-
You do not need to use your surgical eye drops on the morning of your surgery.
-
The evening (supper time) of your surgical day you will resume taking the pre-operative eye drops and add your post-operative eye drop(s) and again at bedtime.
-
You will continue all drops four times a day until the bottles run out. You do not need to refill the eye drops as they start to run out. The pharmacy will indicate instructions on the bottles.
-
Allow 2 to 3 minutes between each drop. There is no specific order to the drops.
-
Please use your drops as scheduled before coming in to all post operative appointments.
Note: The original prescription will have a refill meant for patients who will have their second eye done.
Other Medications
-
Use your glaucoma drops as prescribed throughout the surgical process – unless otherwise advised by physician.
-
Continue to take all your regular medications even on the day of surgery unless otherwise advised by the physician.
